I believe the most important part of any beauty routine is a great skincare regimen. I've been very lucky to not have suffered from any major skincare issues. I have normal to dry skin and get the occasional pimple every now and then. I have two small hyperpigmentation spots left from old blemishes but they're not anything I'm terribly uncomfortable with. I've recently added a few new products to my skincare routine that I think are working out very well; I'm very happy with the way my skin has been looking lately. Let's jump right into my skincare routine and favorite products...
bareMinerals Purifying Cleanser: I have been using this cleanser for years, since bareMinerals launched their skincare line. It's definitely a holy grail product. What I love about this cleanser is that it's not drying at all, it's free of icky ingredients and a little goes a LONG way. Using two pumps each morning, this bottle has lasted me over five months and there is still quite a bit left.
Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator: I got this product in my Birchbox last month and I love it! It's an exfoliator that I use two or three times a week. Brighten Up has papaya enzymes and microderm crystals that break down and buff away dead skin cells leaving brighter, softer, glowing skin. I've seen a huge improvement since I've started using this scrub. Once I'm finished with this sample, I'll definitely be being buying the full size.
Burt's Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream: I bought this moisturizer about two months ago. I had run out of the bareMinerals Purely Nourishing Cream and wanted to try something different. I love so many things about this moisturizer. It has a pump that dispenses the perfect amount of product, it's light enough for the warmer weather but nourishing enough for my dry skin and... it's Burt's Bees! It's formulated with cotton extract to soften and shield skin from potential irritants and it's 99% natural. You can't get much better than that.
Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes: The Yes to Cucumbers are by far my favorite facial wipes for removing my makeup. I featured them in a monthly favorites post and my feelings haven't changed. They have the right amount of moisture and one wipe removes all of my makeup. It's easy to see why these are an Allure Magazine Best of Beauty Award winner.
Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil: I'd been curious about this little gem for a long time, so I bought the travel size to try... and it's pretty amazing. I use this at night after I've taken off my makeup. I rub a few drops onto my skin, massaging the cleanser in, adding some warm water to create a milky lather. I then take a warm washcloth, lay it on my face for a few seconds and wipe away the cleanser. All dirt, grime and makeup is gone and my skin feels perfectly soft and comfortable.
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque: This old school goodie is my favorite mask. I apply it about every two weeks as a 'detox' for my skin. The kaolin and bentonite clay draw out impurities and absorb excess oils, leaving skin deeply cleansed and refreshed. The best part? It costs about $3.99.
Nature's Bounty Skin, Hair and Nails Vitamins: I think of these as a booster to my skincare routine. I'm a firm believer what you eat and drink has a huge effect on your skin. I try to eat a somewhat healthy diet... more fruits and veggies than processed food and more water than caffeinated, sugary drinks. I feel like these vitamins give some extra help in providing some of the antioxidants and nutrients that I may be lacking in my diet. I see more of difference when I stop taking these vitamins. I notice that my skin and hair will start to look dull and my nails will break like crazy when I don't take them. They are free of: artificial flavor and color, gluten, wheat, yeast, sugar, sodium, lactose, milk, preservatives and shellfish.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your current skincare favorites?
